Top 10 qualification considerations for applying RMTs
At Alberta Momentum Massage, our goal is to feature Edmonton massage therapists who are passionate about the work they do, who seek to continually expand their techniques in an effort to consistently provide thoughtful and meaningful treatments for our wonderful clients.
What started as a tiny clinic has grown in to a wonderful neighborhood treatment center where we are often unable to accommodate everyone looking to book a massage, as many of our massage therapist’s schedules book well in advance. Days are consistent and evenings are guaranteed to always be booked for the right Edmonton Massage Therapist who is looking for 4 – 6 clients within their scheduled shift.
We are always on the lookout for highly trained RMT s to join our wonderful team. If you think that Alberta Momentum may be a good fit for you, please e-mail a resume to albertamomentummassage@gmail.com, or call the clinic at 780.488.8640.
We require all of our RMTs have 2200 hours of training or equivalent, and hold a current membership to either NHPC or MTAA.
Following are the 10 most important things for applying RMTs :-
Professionalism
How you conduct yourself determines for the client how professional and reliable the clinic is. RMTs must wear a medical scrub top with bottoms of their choice (no jeans). We hire well spoken, friendly and supportive RMTs who follow good ethics and carry themselves in a professional manner. A professional carefully discovers what is needed and assists the client to their goal, whether it may be recovery from an injury, or simply a desire to unwind.
Compassion
Compassion is a virtue — one in which the emotional capacities of empathy and sympathy (for the suffering of others) are regarded as a cornerstone of greater social interconnection and humanism — foundational to the highest principles in philosophy, society, and person-hood. A good RMT must listen to a client’s needs and address them with heartfelt sincerity.
Knowledge
Must have 2200 hours (or equivalent) of Massage Therapy training from a recognized college or institution.
Community
Must love people ! We are a community Massage Therapy clinic in Edmonton and we serve all walks of life and a variety of people and personalities.
Independence
Though we do provide all that you will need for your treatments, from tables to oils, we expect that everyone is happy working as an independent contractor and that our RMTs can conduct themselves in a professional manner when management is not there.
Trust
Being a massage therapist involves a great amount of trust. Your clients must trust you with their injuries and with their personal space therefor you must conduct yourself in a way that makes people comfortable, both staff and clients.
Punctuality
We value our client’s time and money. It is important to be 10 minutes early for each client and no later, and to accommodate a client if you as a therapist are running behind. Always keep in mind your next appointment, and if you need to push it ahead a little you must take the time to call your next client.
Association
All Alberta Momentum Massage Therapists are members of accredited associations (NHPC or MTAA) and are expected to hold a current city of Edmonton massage license.
Neatness
We pride ourselves in keeping an orderly and sanitary massage clinic space. RMTs keep their treatment rooms in pristine condition to ensure the trust of each and every client.
Modalities
From Hot Stone training to Thai Massage and Bamboo Massage, extra massage modalities are always encouraged!
